  Why do we get stumbled out of JW's because of imperfect people?

  i see this a lot on this forum, loads of people saying they left jw's because of "hypocritical ....... ( put elder, pioneer, couple, sister, brother, governing body) here.. but?.

  why would you expect any man-run organisation if you believe the bible, to have to be perfect and not be full of imperfect people that will come across as hypocritical?.

  the bible examples from israelites onwards name anyone :- moses, king david, pharasees, paul the one thing the bible doesn't do is white-wash them it shows that however much we follow the laws we are always fighting our own imperfection usually failing every time and needing to be corrected sometimes punished (moses had to give-up chance of seeing the foretold land), so why do we hold this against jw's as a reasons not to be a jw's anymore?.

  jgnat, i like the way you put that. it is so true that there are others serving God. If one does not go out to find this they will never see. They will keep believing as i did for 17 yrs that the jw had the truth.

  If the Bible was written more clearly, would there be a need to preach?

  part of the reason there are so many divisions and opinions and versions of the bible is because, quite honestly, alot of it just doesn't make any sense.

  it's full of symbolism, metaphors, allegories, parables, and even some of the narratives conflict with themselves.

  the book of revelation makes no sense at all.

  TURIN SHROUD/ Has anyone found a faith after leaving??

  hi.. ive recently been reading some really interesting stuff about the turin shroud, how it could be authentic after all, and the evidence that points to its authenticity.

  of course, this gives me reason for thinking that "what if the gospels are true after all?

  has anyone else here looked at the subject of the turin shroud??.

  I realized studying with jw that I forgot about Jesus. The most important part of the gospel. i read a lot of post from ex-jw that had left and said they found Jesus Christ and at first I was like these people are crazy, i know who Jesus is. I knew of him but had not really established a relationship with him. He is the key.

  Free Will?

  i just had a conversation with my sibling regarding free will.

  he's going on and on about how jehoover gave us free will and that gives us the choice to accept him or not.

  now, i will confess that i never paid attention at the meetings, didn't give a hoot about doctrine, the bible or whatever they were spewing from the platform so maybe that's why i don't get this.

  I am an imperfect being so i dont want to use my will to do anything. I'd rather be used by God because what do I know? Not a lot. He created me so his ways are better than mine. I live what I have just mentioned. I tried to live my way and do my own thing but keep missing the mark. I've found that when I do it his way I come out much better. My life has purpose and meaning. Without God we just live and die.

  we choose right or wrong freely. either way you are making a choice that will bring consequences

  The Bible was written for belivers. You need the Holy Spirit to help you interpret the Bible.

  i've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.

  right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).

  barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

  A tract from "Christendom"

  as a faithful and obedient jw, i have always rejected christendom's literature for the trash that i imagined it was..... today as i was getting off the subway a woman was handing out tracts... for the first time in my life i said, what the heck, sure, i'll take one.... i must admit, since i have only been "out" for about 3 weeks, i was trembling somewhat as i opened it (needlessly, a shakeover from jw days).

  it was titled "the power of god", and had a very brief introductory paragraph recommeding the imporatnce of getting to know god through the bible.

  the rest of the litle tract (48 tiny pages) is only scripture citations.

  700 million babies to be slaughtered

  the world population increases by 70 million each year.. this means that on the day armageddon strikes, at least 700 000 000 babies under the age of 10 wil be slaughtered.. 192 000 of these will be less than 24 hours old, many of them killed with their head barely hanging out of their mothers vagina.. how can the witlesses love a god that would do this - even long for it??.

  it strikes me that for the witlesses morality is entirely relative.. i well remember the kingdumb song: "some paint god cruel" (wt does!!!).

  Armegeddon and the end of the world is a bible concept not a jw concept. Just because the baptist and the catholics dont read their bibles doesnt mean that they are not worshiping the same god who behaves the same way.

  I am from a baptist backgroung and I do read my Bible thank you! God is love. Whatever he decides to do will be justice. He created us all so i would think he can do as he pleases.

  Stop talking about how cruel you think God is and serve him. It is your only hope. Or believe what the witnesses have taught you. the part about not burning in hell for eternity. You'll just not exist anymore yeah right. like Satan told Eve, oh you wont surely die.

  Jesus Christ died for us all. Repent and come back to God!
